Tip: Protest a Dentist – It’s your Right

Gentle Dental SUCKS

Feeling exhausted with the old rigmarole of trying to get some relief and acknowledgement from your dental malpractice fiasco?

Well don’t just sit there! Grab some markers and some paper…maybe a little glitter…and make a picket sign!

The reason HorribleDentists are allowed to thrive is because of unsuspecting visitors. Let’s be honest – if you were already nervous about a dental procedure and when you arrived at the office there was someone protesting it? Would you take your chances? Probably Not.

Hit em’ where it hurts: the pockets. Protesting is your right. Be sure you check your state regulations. In general, if you will NOT be marching or using a megaphone you will NOT need a permit.

Also, you will need permission to protest on private property. But sidewalks are a free for all. Happy Protesting and be sure to send in Pics!

Tip: Spotting a Horrible Dentist before Visiting

Image

Kim Henry, D.M.D, was nice enough to leave his perspective as a medical professional sworn in to help the general populace: patients lie. They are their own worst enemy and often times go to non reputable dentists. In the SLIGHT chance in his 30+ years of practicing that he finds negligent work, he asks the patient to go back and seek…correction or compensation. Then report them to the board of education.

Of note, he did not say that he didn’t charge the patient for telling them to go back to the negligent dentist. He also didn’t say he would provide testimony for the negligent work. If the medical professional is negligent, which is a “rarity”, why worry about doing a “professional” courtesy? This backs up exactly my collusion post – doesn’t it?

None the less, we appreciate his honesty and his post brings up a good point. How do we identify and avoid negligent dentists in the first place?

Like the devil, the greatest asset to horrible dentist is the belief, and reinforcement by reputable dentists, that they don’t exist. We civilians walk around thinking that if you spent the money and went through the years of school you have to be good right? Wrong – not all doctors, cops, firemen, or any other person who means to “help” is created equal.

From my research through this wretched ordeal, I’ve found a simple way to identify horrible dentists is to simply do a court records searchvia the internet. If they have ANY malpractice claims against them, stay far far farrr away. Now, dentists will tell you that this isn’t an apt measure, that patients will sue you for the slightest irrational thing. But, what you should know while doing your research it is extremely difficult to get a lawyer to even accept a dental malpractice claim due to the collusion and inability to get testimony from another dentist. And even if the lawyer accepts the case, the compensation is considerably low. Reported cases of victims losing 10+ teeth due to unnecessary or inadequate bridges, or damaged suffering damaged facial nerves from pulled wisdom teeth that will leave the patient with a numb face forever will run the dentist…about $250,000. That’s maybe one years salary? Meanwhile you can spill a cup of coffee on yourself at a drive through and get a cool 2 mill.

Trust your instincts and trust me, check the local court systems before choosing a dentist.
